Dear Friends & Family,

ESYO (Empire State Youth Orchestra) has had a huge impact on my life. ESYO has helped me in every step of my musical journey, from my first taste of orchestral music five years ago in Concertino Strings to the amazing opportunities I've received in Symphony Orchestra this past season. I was able to dive into a whole new musical world and was deeply inspired by the opportunity to work with renowned violinist Ade Williams in an ESYO-exclusive masterclass. Symphony Orchestra will be performing Berlioz's Symphonie fantastique this spring, and I am so excited to play this amazing repertoire. We have been rehearsing the entire five-movement long symphony, a big undertaking. It's just one of many great opportunities to learn and improve at a high level that ESYO provides. I love every challenge it brings.

Once a year at Playathon, every musician is asked to raise money for their Orchestra, and that time is now. Our tuition only covers 40% of the cost of participation, and we have to make up the balance. So I am asking if you will please make a donation in my name to ESYO. This means a lot to me, and I really appreciate your (continued) support. The money raised will go to coaching, programming, scholarships (no one is turned away because they can't pay), and more.

Playathon is Empire State Youth Orchestra’s most important fundraiser and friend-raiser of the year! This fun-filled day of free musical performances raises money for ESYO while showcasing the breadth and depth of our programs. It is the one day of the year when all ESYO ensembles (including CHIME) perform in one location!

Your support is needed now more than ever. The marathon display of musical talent helps ESYO ensure no qualified musician is ever turned away from the ESYO experience because of an inability to pay. The money raised will support a substantial portion of ESYO’s operating expenses and musician scholarships.
