Hi guys, my name is Chloe Zhang and I am a member of Empire State Youth Orchestra (ESYO). I have been in ESYO for a total of three years, however this is my second year in Symphony. I joined ESYO because it provided me with an invaluable opportunity to immerse myself in music in a way I couldn't find anywhere else. From the moment I attended my first rehearsal, I was in awe by the level of dedication and passion throughout all sections of the orchestra. Being a part of ESYO means more to me than simply playing in concerts; it's about the friendships formed during long rehearsals, the thrill of tackling challenging pieces together, and the growth I experience as a musician with each passing season. ESYO has shaped me not only as a musician but as a person, and with your donation it allows for everyone, no matter what race, gender, or playing level, to get a chance to join this amazing experience! 

Playathon is Empire State Youth Orchestra’s most important fundraiser and friend-raiser of the year! This fun-filled day of free musical performances raises money for ESYO while showcasing the breadth and depth of our programs. It is the one day of the year when all ESYO ensembles (including CHIME) perform in one location!

Your support is needed now more than ever. The marathon display of musical talent helps ESYO ensure no qualified musician is ever turned away from the ESYO experience because of an inability to pay. The money raised will support a substantial portion of ESYO’s operating expenses and musician scholarships.
