Hello!

As many of you know, I have been with the Empire State Youth Orchestra playing string bass for the last four years. I am in both the Symphony Orchestra and the Youth Jazz Ensemble! 

The Empire State Youth Orchestra engages more than 600 youth from across New York’s Capital Region and Western New England in the joyful pursuit of musical excellence. Guided by outstanding teaching artists, coaches and conductors, members explore their potential alongside like-minded peers in an environment that is musically challenging and fun! Once a year, at Playathon, every musician is asked to raise money for the Orchestra, and that time is now. Nearly 50% of ESYO's annual operating budget comes from donations and donations like yours help keep ESYO tuition low. In addition, ESYO never turns away qualified musicians because of inability to pay.  The money raised will go to coaching, programming, scholarships and more.

Playathon is Empire State Youth Orchestra’s most important fundraiser and friend-raiser of the year! This fun-filled day of free musical performances raises money for ESYO while showcasing the breadth and depth of our programs. It is the one day of the year when all ESYO ensembles (including CHIME) perform in one location!

Your support is needed now more than ever. The marathon display of musical talent helps ESYO ensure no qualified musician is ever turned away from the ESYO experience because of an inability to pay. The money raised will support a substantial portion of ESYO’s operating expenses and musician scholarships.
