Hello, my name is Victoria Chung. I am a member of ESYO's Repertory Orchestra of the First Violins. This is my third year doing ESYO, and I can proudly announce that starting and continuing ESYO was one of the best decisions I have ever made. ESYO has allowed me to grow in ways I couldn't ever imagine and has given me a joy only it could bring. I have come to love violin even more due to ESYO, have met friends I couldn't have made otherwise, and made unforgettable memories. Donations from Playathon help spread this joy and passion -- these donations go to scholarships for students in need, keeps ESYO tuition low, and provides a free after school music education program. Hundreds of musicians in ESYO, thanks to these donations, could afford to go to ESYO and experience the same joy that I had -- a life changing, exhilarating experience. Playathon is Empire State Youth Orchestra’s most important fundraiser and friend-raiser of the year! This fun-filled day of free musical performances raises money for ESYO while showcasing the breadth and depth of our programs. It is the one day of the year when all ESYO ensembles (including CHIME) perform in one location!

Your support is needed now more than ever. The marathon display of musical talent helps ESYO ensure no qualified musician is ever turned away from the ESYO experience because of an inability to pay. The money raised will support a substantial portion of ESYO’s operating expenses and musician scholarships.
