My name is Ilan Kogan, and I have been playing cello for 4 years. The cello to me is simply a most beauteous instrument; from its name to the amazing sound it makes. I joined ESYO to further improve my cello skills, and to become a more well-rounded in my studies. I have found ESYO to be an amazing organization, which allows young musicians such as myself to let their skills become more refined.

ESYO is holding its annual Playathon fundraiser in order to raise funds whilst showcasing its program. Nearly 50 percent of ESYO's annual operating budget comes from donations. The fundraising begins today and runs through the event in March 15th.

Playathon is Empire State Youth Orchestra’s most important fundraiser and friend-raiser of the year! This fun-filled day of free musical performances raises money for ESYO while showcasing the breadth and depth of our programs. It is the one day of the year when all ESYO ensembles (including CHIME) perform in one location!

Your support is needed now more than ever. The marathon display of musical talent helps ESYO ensure no qualified musician is ever turned away from the ESYO experience because of an inability to pay. The money raised will support a substantial portion of ESYO’s operating expenses and musician scholarships.
