Dear family and friends.

I hope you are in good health. I am now a sophomore and playing horn in the ESYO symphony orchestra. I'm writing to ask you to donate to ESYO. Thanks to your help, I won the peer to peer competition last year!

ESYO has been a really huge part of my life for the last three years, and it provides something to look forward to every week. The concerts, for me at least, provide something to work towards and really great opportunites to perform in front of people.

Last year, I was excited after a summer at Tanglewood and really looking forward to performing, but shattered my lower arm. After getting a plate permanently installed in my wrist, I was back to playing after a month. It was a great feeling to be back to playing music. 

I hope you get a chance to see us perform in Troy or Saratoga Springs. Or come out to see me in the Young Artists Wind Ensemble at Tanglewood. 

Playathon is Empire State Youth Orchestra’s most important fundraiser and friend-raiser of the year! This fun-filled day of free musical performances raises money for ESYO while showcasing the breadth and depth of our programs. It is the one day of the year when all ESYO ensembles (including CHIME) perform in one location!

Your support is needed now more than ever. The marathon display of musical talent helps ESYO ensure no qualified musician is ever turned away from the ESYO experience because of an inability to pay. The money raised will support a substantial portion of ESYO’s operating expenses and musician scholarships.
