Hi! My name is Elise and I joined Esyo in September of 2024. At first, ESYO was just a way to get more experience in an orchestra ouside of the group my school provided. Now, I realize that it is so much more than that! Being in Concertino Strings has grown my love for playing the cello. This amazing ensemble has also helped me learn how to be a soloist, yet also blend with others when playing together. I hope to continue improving skills like these and many more. Students like me who are very passionate about music make up this organization. ESYO, in total, has over 500 young musicians in 12 performing ensembles, some of which are able to join thanks to a donation-funded scholarship. Your donation could provide an incredible opportunity for a young musician, opening a door for them to the extraordinary world of music. 

Playathon is Empire State Youth Orchestra’s most important fundraiser and friend-raiser of the year! This fun-filled day of free musical performances raises money for ESYO while showcasing the breadth and depth of our programs. It is the one day of the year when all ESYO ensembles (including CHIME) perform in one location!

Your support is needed now more than ever. The marathon display of musical talent helps ESYO ensure no qualified musician is ever turned away from the ESYO experience because of an inability to pay. The money raised will support a substantial portion of ESYO’s operating expenses and musician scholarships.
