Hello!

I am Lily, and I am in the ESYO String Orchestra. This is my first year in ESYO, and I have had a lot of fun so far, and learned a lot not only about playing the cello, but also playing in an orchestra. I love to make music, and playing the cello is very rewarding and fun. Because everybody in ESYO loves music so much, the music that we make is amazing, because everybody is so passionate about playing. For this reason, ESYO is also a friendly community where everybody has the common interest of music, which is an amazing experience.

Playathon is Empire State Youth Orchestra’s most important fundraiser and friend-raiser of the year! This fun-filled day of free musical performances raises money for ESYO while showcasing the breadth and depth of our programs. It is the one day of the year when all ESYO ensembles (including CHIME) perform in one location!

Your support is needed now more than ever. The marathon display of musical talent helps ESYO ensure no qualified musician is ever turned away from the ESYO experience because of an inability to pay. The money raised will support a substantial portion of ESYO’s operating expenses and musician scholarships.
